A New Territory family was saved from possible injury at the hands of three armed robbers when a burglar alarm went off, according to a Fort Bend County Sheriff’s report.
Three armed men forced their way into the family’s home, in the 4600 block of Russett Lane, at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the report.
The suspects, armed with handguns, gained entry to the home by breaking out the glass in a back door window.
“The suspects went through the house and ordered the family of four, located in separate areas of the house, to lie down on the floor,” the sheriff’s report stated. Then, “the audible house alarm went off, causing the suspects to flee.”
No one was injured in the incident, and the robbers only were able to take two cell phones, the report said.
The suspects all were described as black men, from 5 feet, 10 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall, weighing 200-210 pounds and wearing their hair in short braids. The sheriff’s report said they wore black clothing and black bandanas that covered some of their faces. They also “spoke with an accent.”
Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. All calls to Crime Stoppers, at 281-342-8477, are anonymous.
